Is it a sin to celebrate Halloween?

Halloween is a holiday commonly celebrated with costumes, decorations, parties, and treats, often incorporating themes of ghosts, witches, and the supernatural.

1. Does it glorify God?

No. Celebrating or honoring occult practices, witchcraft, or darkness conflicts with biblical commands to reject such things (Ephesians 5:11; Deuteronomy 18:10–12).

2. Can I do this without being tempted to sin?

No. Halloween commonly involves occult imagery, glorification of darkness, and practices that can draw Christians toward things Scripture tells them to avoid.

3. Could I do this with Jesus Christ next to me?

No. A Christian should not participate in anything involving occult practices or celebrating darkness while claiming to follow Christ (1 Corinthians 10:21; Ephesians 5:8–11).

So, yes, it is a sin to celebrate Halloween.

The biblical concern is not simply costumes, candy, or having fun, but participating in the holiday's occult and darkness-related elements. A Christian should instead avoid those practices and choose activities that honor God.
