Is it a sin to watch Teen Titans?

Teen Titans is an animated superhero series about a group of young heroes who fight villains, protect people, and deal with friendship and personal struggles.

We're now going to evaluate it using the following simple but effective test:

1. Does it glorify God?

No. The show is not specifically made to glorify God, and it contains fictional superhero themes and some supernatural elements, sometimes even involving occult practices and not-so-good lessons for children.

2. Can I do this without being tempted to sin?

Yes. A Christian can generally watch Teen Titans without being led into sinful thoughts or actions. However, if particular episodes or themes cause you personally to dwell on sinful things, those should be avoided (1 Corinthians 6:12).

3. Could I do this with Jesus Christ next to me?

No. Many episodes promote occult practices, especially involving Raven and her father. Although this might not have an effect on most Christians, it would not feel comfortable watching such things with Christ beside you.

So, for the most part, yes, it is a sin to watch Teen Titans.

The show itself is not inherently sinful, but some parts are not good for children to learn from. We should fill our minds with whatever is pure, honorable, and praiseworthy, rather than sinful things (Philippians 4:8).
