Is it a sin to watch The Boys?

The Boys is a television activity centered on a superhero satire/drama, commonly watched for its story, dark humor, action, and social commentary.

We're now going to evaluate it using the following simple but effective test:

1. Does it glorify God?

No. The show contains substantial graphic violence, sexual content, profanity, and morally corrupt behavior, which conflicts with biblical principles concerning purity and what we choose to dwell on (Philippians 4:8; Ephesians 5:3–4).

2. Can I do this without being tempted to sin?

No. The amount of sexual material, profanity, violence, and depravity can reasonably expose a Christian to temptations and influence what they tolerate or entertain.

3. Could I do this with Jesus Christ next to me?

No. Given the show's frequent explicit sexual content, crude language, and graphic brutality, a Christian could not honestly view much of it while treating Christ's presence as something they were consciously honoring.

So, yes, it is a sin to watch The Boys.

The issue is not simply that it portrays evil, but that the show repeatedly uses explicit and morally degrading content as entertainment. A Christian should avoid media that requires repeatedly embracing what Scripture calls impure or dishonorable.
